a few more days . . . Petite Retreat!!

my favorite dress-form
with a few necklaces that I have been working on . . .

I used to make jewelry . . . but haven't done so in a long time.
I find it very relaxing - like gardening,
or a yoga class from what I hear :) . . . and lately I really need that!!

I will be bringing a few of these necklaces and some earrings
to the Petite Retreat Show this Saturday . . .

but one thing you should know . . .

the gal with a true gift for making jewelry
will also be there!!

Her name is Patricia Kelly Mackey

and is the owner of . . .
Tippy Stockton
specializing in custom jewelry!!

She is very talented and I absolutely love her use of color!!
The jewelry is amazing!!

Wendy Prowell from
Gussy Chairs
will be also be there!!

She will have a large selection of finished and
unfinished chairs to choose from!
Can't wait - as I love chair frames!!

and of course . . .
the Queen of the Petite Retreat Show . . .

Deb Kennedy and her husband Bob!!
They are a husband and wife team and are the owners of Retreat!!

They are always working on something new and wonderful . . .
and have a truly unique and beautiful style all their own!!

Deb is not only a talented designer . . .
but she is also a strong, savvy and smart woman as well!!
She knows what she wants . . .
then she goes about what she needs to do . . . and then gets it done.

She walks the talk - and I really like about her!!

This spring Deb started her Petite Retreat vintage shows
on their property located on beautiful Camano Island!!

Their first show was a huge success . . .

and I know this one is going to be even more amazing!!

Can't wait to see what they have been working on . . .

the one thing I do know - is that
there will be all sorts of great vintage treasures . . .
just waiting especially for you!!

So . . . jot it down on your "to do list" for this weekend . . .
it is truly the perfect way to spend a Summer Saturday!!

Petite Retreat
Saturday - June 26th
from 10:00 to 4:00

(click on the Petite Retreat logo above for directions, times, etc . . .)

until then . . .

I know you have all seen this . . .
but really - isn't it such a great saying!!

(speaking of words to live by . . .
I have been seeing some really funny bumper-stickers lately!!)

Hope to see you all on Saturday!!

xoxo - liz

(haven't forgotten :) . . . I promise I will try and take some sneek peek photos
and post them tomorrow or Friday!!)

two of my favorites . . .

These two paintings below
were two of my favorite items at
the Farm Chicks show . . .

by two very talented and beautiful women
like mother like daughter . . .

by Kayla Sheeley

by Teresa Sheeley . . .

They are both extremely talented . . .
it is going to be fun to see where their work goes from here . . .

I will definitely be following and hopefully
collecting some along the way!!

Kayla Sheeley and Teresa Sheeley.

speaking of collecting art . . . I have heard about this movie called . . .

Herb and Dorothy

Our local movie store has ordered it in for myself and one other person
and should be here soon . . .

I can't wait to see it!!

farm chicks or bust . . .

after the 8th grade banquet on Sat. night . . .
Meagan and I drove to to Spokane . . .

why you might ask . . .

for a little bit of that Farm Chicks Vibe!!!

it was a long drive and a long night . . .
but that didn't matter to Meagan or I . . .
we chatted all the way there and all the way home . . .
loved every minute of it!!

Farm Chicks is such a happy place . . . with happy people . . .
and I really like that!!!

Bought some great vintage pieces, saw some old friends
and met some new ones . . .

a picture of Robin, Debi, Leah and I . . .

Deb's Retreat booth looked amazing . . . as I expected it would . . .
packed full of creams and whites - it was just beautiful!!!
It was so good to see her again . . .
and I am so excited to be part of her
Petite Retreat
on June 26th
up on Camano Island . . . it is going to be a blast!!!

I met Robin and Leah for the first time on this trip . . .
but have been admiring their work
for quite some time now!!
And let me tell you . . . they are not only talented . . .
but very, very sweet!!

It was such a pleasure to finally meet them both!!

I took tons of people pictures . . . but this weekend it is sunny
and
I want to feel the warmth!!
(I will post more soon!!)

Long story short . . .

It was pure perfection!!
(just like I knew it would be!)

Thank you again Serena!!!

Like I said above - it was perfect!!!

Teatro Woodwardi . . .

what is Teatro Woodwardi you might ask??

well . . .

it is the reason I had to cancel as a
vendor at Farm Chicks this year . . .

and I might add here . . .
that there are only a few things that would keep me
from wanting to be a vendor at Farm Chicks . . .
but - I think you will see why this was one of them!

Each year the parents go all-out and surprise the kids
with a very special 8th grade banquet . . .
(each year with a different theme)

The night includes
a sit down dinner, a slideshow,
entertainment, and of course . . .
the dance of all dances!!

it is a big production . . .
and all the parents gets involved . . .

from table decorations . . .

to props . . .
(this one was borrowed from Teatro ZinZanni)

to dinner . . .

and . . .
some of the parents even dressed up!!

in fact . . .
one parent and his older son built this chandelier . . .

can you believe this . . .

it was truly an amazing and magical night!!

and . . .
why do we all do this????

for smiles like these!!!
(my son Pierre and his friend Tino)

and more smiles!!
Pierre with his friend and baseball buddy Jack.

It was Jack's father Gordon and his older bother Cameron
who built the chandelier!! You guys rocked!! :)

until next year . . .

xoxo - liz

the above concept was based on . . .
Teatro ZinZanni
a very cool place in Seattle!!!

if you are looking for a fun night out in Seattle (also in San Francisco) . . .
this is it!!

A special kiss and hug to
Teatro ZinZanni!!!

we couldn't have done this without you . . .
you are the best!!!

6/4/10

A very special post . . .

there are soooo many great vendors at
and I have decided that it is too hard to write about just a few.

On that note . . .

I have decided to write about one very special vendor . . .
that I met last year at Farm Chicks.

This gal is a true inspiration to me on so many levels . . .

her name is . . .
Teresa Sheeley

and I am so glad that I met her last year at Farm Chicks . . .

she is known for her beautiful towels . . .
with words in french . . . stylish numbers . . .

crowns . . .

and european county motifs . . .
the red rooster above is one of my favorites!!

Teresa is also an amazing artist . . .
and I have so enjoyed following her work!!
I love the above piece . . .

and I also love this one . . . in fact - I bought the original from her!! :)

but what I find most inspiring about Teresa . . .
is her true beauty
that comes from within herself and her faith in god.

Here is Teresa next to her "rock" husband . . . Dave!!

Unfortunately - Dave had a heart attack earlier this year
but is doing much better each and every day . . .

when things happen like this . . .
it changes ones life in so many ways.
It has not only been overwhelming emotionally . . .
but it has also been an enormous burden financially.

Unless you have gone through something like this personally . . .
you may never know the depth of this hardship . . .
and also the test in your faith each and every day.

With all of this going on in her world . . .
Teresa (with Dave by her side) has been working hard
to get ready for The Farm Chicks' show.
(love the picture above!!)

I know her booth is going to be amazing this year!!!
So . . . stop by and see her . . . her Booth is #143

You can give her a big hug from me . . .
and
I am sure you will find something you
can't live without as well!!

I told Teresa that I do believe Miracles do happen at Farm Chicks!!

what I didn't tell her . . .

is that one of the small miracles that happened last year to me . . .
started out with a big ben clock I had in my booth . . .

and the friendship that was created from it . . .
and Teresa . . .
if you are reading this and you still have the original painting . . .

It is SOLD . . . to moi!! :)
(if the original is sold - I would love to get a print!!)

Hope you have a wonderful show Teresa!!!

Love and Hugs . . . xoxo - liz

Farm Chicks . . .

Farm Chicks . . . the best time ever!!!!

If you have been . . .
you know exactly what I am talking about!!

If you have not . . .
you need to go as it is amazing!!

I am sad to say . . .
that I will not be a vendor this year
as my son's 8th grade Banquet is this weekend
and as sad as I am not to be going . . .
I obviously could not miss out on this memory!!

It was extremely hard telling Serena
that I would not be coming this year . . .
and not because of losing my space and all . . .
but because I was really was sad about it . . .
and I kept praying for some kind of miracle to happen . . .
but it was not meant to be.

I will truly miss seeing all of you who came by my booth last year!!
(I can still remember your smiles!!!)
I told Serena to put me on the waiting list for next year as . . .
I can't wait to come back!!

and who knows . . .
I may wake up at 3:00 Sunday Morning to
drive the long drive . . .
do a bit of Farm Chicks shopping . . .
and most importantly . . .
see some old friends, meet some new ones,
and feel a bit of that Farm Chicks Vibe!! :)
(those of you who have been - know exactly what I am talking about!!)

here are a few words from last year's post . . .

Where do I even start . . . the Farm Chicks show was one
of the highlights in my life!!! I am not sure that I can explain the
true meaning of how much it meant to me here on this blog - it was
truly a moment in time that I will never forget!!! Life happens . . . we
have the wonderful times as well as the hard times . . . and once in
awhile . . . we have those special times that we will never forget . . .
for me . . . this weekend was one of those times!!!

A very special "Thank You" to Teri and Serena . . .
we are
all blessed
to have you in our lives . . .
we will have memories that
will last a lifetime!!
Thank you so very much!!

The above pictures were from my booth last year . . .

next up . . .
some of my favorite vendors to see at Farm Chicks!!
