a new direction . . .

This past January I decided not to do another local show here on Bainbridge Island.
I was then talked out of that decision by a few close friends and customers. :)

I decided to do one last Spring Market -  my last local show here on Bainbridge Island . . .
not because I do not LOVE doing the shows for our customers, vendors, friends, and community . . .
and not because I do not wish to grow it . . .
but - because I do not wish to facilitate it any longer . . .
as it is taking much more of my time than I had originally thought.

(this photo was taken last year at our 2011 Seabold Vintage Spring Market)

Quite honestly - I need this time back for my family . . . my sweet husband . . .
my growing kids . . . my sense of home . . . and for myself . . .
including other dreams I have . . .
which have been sitting on the sidelines patiently waiting for me . . .

It is now time to let go . . .
and free up some time for a few new opportunities . . .

I still plan to go to several quality shows each year . . .

I will be at the "Remnants of the Past" show in early June . . . and "Barn House" in late July.
I have always wanted to be part of Judy's wonderful show in California . . .
and I absolutely LOVE Joe and Jermonne's Barn House Market - as it is truly one of my favorites!!

And yes . . . . I will continue selling my vintage goods on my On-line store . . .
as well as on "Second Shout Out" in the near future . . .

I have talked with several people who may want to do a similar show under a different name . . .
here on the Island or in the surrounding area.
I am completely supportive of them and their decision to do so . . .
and I will let you all know when those shows will be!

On one level - I am very sad about all of this . . .
yet on another level - I know that it is the right thing for myself and my family.
and to be quite honest - I am a bit giddy about it all!!! :)

A Big heart felt "Thank You" to all of you . . .
for all of your support . . . smiles . . . and laughter at our shows over the years!!

It has been so special on so many levels . . . and the memories will be with me always . . .

Love and blessings to each of you!!

Over the past 4 months I have witnessed so many bloggers re-org their lives! Priorities started changing, leading them to choose to actually make their families the number one focus! I am so happy! Our families are so important! Our time is so important and such a rare commodity in this day and age! I pray your transition goes beautifully.

I can't wait to hear about what dreams are on the horizon. Best of luck to you, enjoy your time with your loved ones, and I hope to visit you at BH this summer. Take care, Tere

I am sooo proud of you Liz. It's so difficult on so many levels to try to balance family with this crazy vintage life. I used to think family demands were going to impact the business, but alas the ongoing issues with businesses like ours -- no matter how much we love it all -- just keep growing and growing.

Business can wait; family cannot.

Liz, it was great to meet you on Saturday, and the show was so much fun - we closed it out :-) and while I'm sad that it was the last one...I am excited for what is in store for you in the future, I'm sure it will be great things! I hope you keep us informed and we can visit your booth at the shows that you continue to go to!!!

Liz, congratulations. Congrats on bringing something so stylish to Bainbridge and helping set the bar. It was a job SO well done. But, also congrats on knowing when to step away. That takes courage and I applaud you for it.

As 'LUSH' mentioned, this sensibility seems to be prevalent in the blogging community lately - myself included. Seems that many of us are thinking more about what's most important or looking for a deeper kind of quality in the things we do and where we give of our time. It's a good thing, I believe.

Proud of you!

Beautiful and Fun Liz ...

There is such joy in freeing up new quiet space for yourself and your most important loves ... well done, my dear. Giddy is right. I'm pleased to know that you will still be sharing your authentic and beautiful products with your friends online. I will find you there! Can't wait to see what you undertake next ... Cindee

Hey Liz, I am so sorry I never made it to one of your markets. I am glad you are taking your time back as it flies so fast sometimes we just need to "catch" it. Best wishes and hope to meet you one of these days. Maybe when you are down for BH.

I know how hard this decision must have been for you, but family always should come first! Plus, with all of that extra time, you can visit us more often! We love you and are glad you took a big deep breath and are following your heart. J/J
