these two very special men
have given vintage a whole new meaning . . .
on every level!!


Joe and Jermonne . . .
have inspired so many of us . . . as they have
given their heart and the soul to everything they touch . . .



from sharing their wonderful farm animals . . .
and daily life at the barn with all of us. . .



to their special friendships with their ever-expanding
vintage family!!



Their vintage markets
are more than one could ever hope for
. . .
and if you haven't been to one
you must try and go!!



And then sometimes . . .
they show up at special events where their vintage merchandising and goods . . .
are always breathtaking and beyond measure!!

and now . . .

Do any of you remember I.Magnins??

I remember going there with my mom in San Francisco . . .
it was always magical to me . . .
it was the perfect place to go if you wanted to buy something extra special!!
The last thing I bought at one of their stores was a pair of shoes in 1992 or 1993 at the Seattle store before they closed a year or so later . . . I remember that it was a splurge and a stretch to buy them - but I never looked back as I loved them dearly,
and to me . . . they were worth every penny!!

I sometimes miss how special things were back then . . . and hope they will shift back in that direction . . . the sooner the better . . . :)

both socially and politically . . .

I love Andy Warhol . . . especially in the early years . . .


he was ahead of his time . . . in pop art . . .



and film . . . and he would have absolutely loved this blogging world!!

One of my all time favorite movies is "To Sir With Love" with Sidney Poitier . . .
It is truly a wonderful movie . . . and a must see if you haven't yet seen it!!

she reminds me so much of "Duffy" . . .
from the "Mercy" music video at the beginning of this post . . . if you see the movie you will know exactly what I am talking about!! :)

and his "I Have A Dream. . . " speech . . .

There was so much going on during this time . . . it was such a strong movement and has made us who we are today . . .

as we all know many of these stories had tragic endings . . .
unfortunately we know them all to well . . .

but I am thankful for the growth and changes that took place
as we now live in a very different world because of each and everyone of them!!

this is what is truly important . . . to me!!
