Wish I could have been there . . .


a very special quilt show happened last week . . .

650 American Quilts - all in red and white . . .
on loan from a single collector - Joanna S. Rose!!

Infinite Variety:  Three centuries of Red and White Quilts


The exhibition took place at the . . . Park Avenue Armory in New York . . .
for one very short week . . . March 25th to March 30th . . .


Had I known . . . I would have been there . . . I would have been on a plane . . .
and not just because I love red . . . and not just because I love old quilts . . .


but because the whole idea of it's presentation truly intrigued me . . .

it looked breathtaking . . . incredible . . .
something that will most likely not happen again . . .



And yes . . . I am totally seeing that red cross quilt above - LOVE it!!!

    I would loved to have viewed those for the color.
    I don't do quilts , Takes to long but I love them

    I seen on Martha Stweart show a preview of the show I was watching her show just to see someone on from Savannah Georgia who bought a pie advertizing Martha's new Cook book PIES they had a special show someplace close to where this exhibit was and learned about id. Of course Martha was touring the quilts also

  9. Wow, what an incredible display of quilts!!

    Yes, Liz, the pendant lights are for sale at 2nd Saturdayz . . . they are "gun-metal gray" (dark) on the outside and white on the inside. PERFECT condition, vintage NAUTICAL shades that we refurbished and turned into pendant lights--all new electrical, of course! (set of six)
